Powering AI’s demand for data centers

January 24, 2025

Remote work, streaming, and cloud computing have driven the demand for data centers for years, but the rise of AI is multiplying that demand exponentially. Building data centers requires careful planning and collaboration under accelerated timelines, so digital tools like Touchplan are essential to staying on track in the construction process. We used Touchplan on a recent 2.5 million sq ft data center project to seamlessly schedule material and equipment deliveries and quickly deliver information to stakeholders and subcontractors.

“This was a fast-paced project with a very large team, and getting all the information to all the trade partners was critical. Because you can’t do this kind of project with old-fashioned trade stacking, everybody’s got to have their own space and allocations of time. But it’s also all about managing a very complicated workflow, so everybody has ownership and buy-in for planning and execution.”
