Brasfield & Gorrie to Build Omni Resort in Frisco, Texas
October 17, 2019
Omni Hotels & Resorts has selected Brasfield & Gorrie as the general contractor for the Omni PGA Frisco Resort project on a 600-plus-acre site in Frisco, Texas. The 500-room resort will be part of a development that will include a retail village, golf villas, a clubhouse and a variety of outdoor amenities. The development is part of the PGA of America’s headquarters relocation to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and is slated for completion in 2022.
“The demand for hotels across North Texas continues to rise, and the PGA of America’s relocation is sure to spur additional growth,” said Brasfield & Gorrie Vice President and Division Manager Jason Weeks. “We are honored to continue our relationship with TRT Holdings, Inc. and Omni Hotels & Resorts through involvement with this landmark project.”
Since 2011, Brasfield & Gorrie has worked on numerous projects with TRT Holdings, Omni Hotels & Resorts’ parent company, including the construction of its headquarters in Dallas. The general contractor has previously completed Omni hotels in Nashville, Tennessee, Louisville, Kentucky, and at The Battery Atlanta. Brasfield & Gorrie is currently building the Omni Oklahoma City Hotel, which is set to open in early 2021.
The Omni PGA Frisco Resort development will be adjacent to courses designed by world-renowned golf course architects Gil Hanse and Beau Welling. The courses are scheduled to open for the 2022 season and the resort, convention center and other facilities are expected to open within six months of that date. The development will host the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in 2023.
The general contractor has completed numerous prominent projects during its 28 years working in Texas.
