Brasfield & Gorrie Breaks Ground on Magnolia Speech School in Mississippi
October 26, 2021
Staff, donors, volunteers, and community partners recently gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new facility for Magnolia Speech School. Magnolia Speech School announced the public phase of its “Building Hope” Campaign on Oct. 1, 2021, and has spent the last two years planning and fundraising to raise 80 percent of the funds. General contractor Brasfield & Gorrie hosted a golf tournament to benefit the school on Oct. 25.
The 30,000-square-foot building will be tailored to accommodate the learning and social needs of children with hearing loss and communication disorders. Advanced technology will be integrated throughout the new school. Brasfield & Gorrie’s Jackson office is managing construction. The general contractor has completed numerous projects in the state, including the Kathy and Joe Sanderson Tower at Children’s of Mississippi and the Jackson Preparatory School junior high renovation.
“Brasfield & Gorrie believes in building strong communities, and we are thrilled to build this facility that will serve local families and those who relocate from around the country to attend this specialized school,” says Brasfield & Gorrie Vice President and Division Manager Ryan Springer.
