Chart Industries and Brasfield & Gorrie recently celebrated the expansion of Chart’s Theodore, Alabama, campus. Chart anticipates that more than 90 people will work in the facility, nicknamed “Teddy 2” because it’s the company’s second plant in Theodore. Chart also hires local subcontractors, which will increase Teddy 2’s economic impact.

Brasfield & Gorrie is using a hybrid pre-engineered metal building that includes low and high bay sections. The facility will include six interior cranes that Chart will use in the manufacturing process.

Brasfield & Gorrie is drawing from our $3.7 billion of experience building industrial projects as we work on this important facility for Chart. We’re energized by complex projects like this, especially because of the impact they make on our communities and the industries they serve.

Vice President and Division Manager Ryan Springer

Chart will use the 127,000 sq ft manufacturing facility to fabricate the world’s largest shop-built cryogenic tanks, which will provide storage solutions for aerospace, marine and other industries. Construction is scheduled to complete in the spring of 2024.

Brasfield & Gorrie has more than 60 projects complete or underway in Mobile, Washington and Baldwin counties, an area the general contractor has worked in for 40 years.
