Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport parking garage reaches construction milestone
April 24, 2025

More parking and improved rental car facilities are on the way to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. General contractor Brasfield & Gorrie recently topped out the 763-space precast parking garage adjacent to the airport terminal. Topping out marks the project reaching its full height.
“This milestone is exciting for us and our community, and it’s possible because GSP is a true partner and valued client,” said Brasfield & Gorrie Vice President and Division Manager Ben Barfield. “We’re proud of our crews for their hard work, and they’re proud that their efforts will positively affect those traveling to and from the Upstate.”
Rental car services will also improve thanks to the finished project. Currently, rental car companies use offsite service stations for refueling, washing, vacuuming, and topping off fluids for each vehicle. In addition to the parking garage, the structure includes:
- Quick-turn-around facility: This 133,000 sq ft area includes car wash, vacuuming, fuel, fluids and offices for rental car companies.
- Central services building: The lobby and office space adjoin 113,000 sq ft of ready return for rental cars
- Ready return floor: An additional 130,000 sq ft of rental car parking
“Just 14 months ago, we broke ground on GSP’s Parking Garage C and Consolidated Rental Car Facility,” said Dave Edwards, president and CEO of Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District. “As we mark this major milestone, it’s incredible to see how far it has come, thanks to the hard work of our architects, engineers, contractors, tradespeople, and staff. This facility is more than a garage — it’s a key part of our growing infrastructure, and we’re excited for the progress still to come.”
The parking garage and rental car facility project is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Brasfield & Gorrie has worked in South Carolina for nearly 40 years. The general contractor opened a full-service, brick and mortar office in Greenville in 2013 and has worked on nearly 200 projects in South Carolina.
