Walter Bouldin Dam Stop Logs

When Bouldin Dam needed to install two new stop logs its powerhouse, the client faced a particular challenge: Due to a lack of headroom above the log slots, the new stop logs could not be installed in one piece. Brasfield & Gorrie worked closely with our client to build new stop logs in two pieces—each weighing roughly 40,000 lbs. With these new stop logs, the facility can shut down two more units (four total) at any given time for maintenance purposes.
