U.S. Courthouse San Antonio wins DBIA National Merit Award

Modern building with vertical louvers and landscaped garden on a clear day, winner of the DBIA National Merit Award.

The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) awarded the U.S. Courthouse San Antonio with a National Merit Award. A panel of industry experts considered and evaluated our project, and the courthouse was one of three winners in the federal/state/county/municipal category.

The technologically advanced facility consolidates the court’s judicial, administrative, and training spaces in one secure location and houses eight courtrooms and 13 judicial chambers. Local history and geography inspired the courthouse’s interior, exterior, and landscaping design. Learn more about those influences in our blog post about the courthouse’s construction.

The success of this project demonstrates the advantages of design-build delivery in construction costs and scheduling. As a result of the project team’s collaboration, the courthouse was completed one month ahead of schedule while staying within the budget.
