Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor for Colonial Properties Trust for the construction of the shops, buildings, hardscape, and site lighting. The buildings in our scope include eleven buildings totaling 110,000-sf. These were initially to be a dark box condition; however, several tenant build-outs and white box conditions have been added to Brasfield & Gorrie’s scope.
This is a lifestyle center development, so the fronts of the buildings are very ornate, and the hardscape will include colored and scored concrete sidewalks, planters, and fountains. The site lighting is varied in type and quite extensive. The sitework involves excavating two million cubic yards of materials, 90% of which is rock, and it includes miles of piping, acres of paving, and nearly a mile of earth retaining wall.
Brasfield & Gorrie will coordinate closely with the site contractors throughout the project. The project also includes four anchor stores: Belk, JC Penney, Best Buy, and Parisian, which is also being constructed by Brasfield & Gorrie.
